Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need to book treatments and use of the spa in advance?
To avoid any disappointment we strongly recommend booking all treatments and use of the spa facilities in advance of arrival. Please contact spa.reception@loch-lomond.co.uk to make a booking.

Does the spa have a swimming or plunge pool?
We do not have a swimming pool or plunge pool or jacuzzi within our Thermal Suite.  The facilities we have are aroma steam room, a salt sauna, a herbal sauna, heated relaxation loungers and invigorating hot and cold showers.

What time should I arrive for a spa day/treatment/booking?
We recommend arriving 10 minutes prior to your spa day/treatment/booking so that you can familiarise yourself with your surroundings and get changed.  Your treatment time includes a consultation with the spa therapist. We recommend your intake form is completed prior to arriving at the spa as it may reduce the time available for your treatment if this is completed on the day.

I have received an intake form do I need to complete prior to arrival?
Please do complete this prior to arrival otherwise it affects your overall treatment time.

Is there a consultation prior to treatment?
Yes there is a consultation prior to your treatment – this is included into your treatment time.

What is the minimum age to use the spa facilities and treatments?
The minimum age for access to the spa or for beauty treatments is 16.

Should I shower before a treatment?
Yes we recommend showering before any of our treatments and a change to underwear.

If I am using the thermal suite prior to a treatment do I need to change?
Yes a change to dry underwear from wet swimwear is required when moving from the thermal to a treatment.  This time to change is included within your full treatment time and not additional.

Can I use my own products within the thermal suite or treatment rooms?
Unfortunately no outside products can be used at the Spa.

Can I combine a cold water dip with use of the thermal suite?
Whilst we encourage cold water swimming in combination with use of our thermal spa facilities, we would advise familiarising yourself with the appropriate health and safety guidelines around this type of activity. Do I need to pay for my treatment at the time of booking?
Full payment will be taken for all treatments at the time of booking.

What is the cancellation policy?
We operate a 24 hour cancellation policy to avoid a 100% charge or redemption from your gift voucher.  Notification of cancellation is required by 12noon 24hrs prior to your visit for a full refund or change of date.

I have a Gift Voucher, what do I need to bring with me?
You should provide your Gift Voucher number at the point of booking and bring along a print out of your voucher on the day. Alternatively you will need to forward your voucher to us via email.

Do you have lockers to secure my belongings?
Yes there are lockers in the changing rooms, which are activated with a locker token.

What should I wear for my visit to the spa?
We recommend you wear comfortable clothes and all valuables are kept securely in your locker or left at home.  Bring your swimwear, flipflops for using within the thermal suite.

Can I consume alcohol before or after a treatment?
No, you should not consume alcohol before or after a spa treatment:

Before a massage - Alcohol can heighten the effects of a massage, which can cause discomfort, inflammation, and an increased risk of injury.

After a massage - Alcohol can counteract the relaxing and detoxifying effects of a massage, which can lead to a worse hangover or adverse reactions.

Do I need a patch test?
A patch test for all tinting treatments must be done at least 24 hours before your appointment.

Should I tip?
Tipping is at the customers discretion, a suggested tip is 10–20% of the treatment cost. You can add a tip to the total bill when you pay, or leave cash in an envelope at the spa reception desk.
